ZOMBIE MODE

The most challenging mode. Cleared cells don't stay cleared: they rise as zombies after a delay. Zombies spread infection to neighbors. Your only weapon: wildcard purges. A countdown timer adds urgency: the more zombies on the board, the faster time runs out.

KEY MECHANICS

  • Uses Downset rules: 4-directional, decrement rerolls
  • Cleared cells rise as zombies after ~5 seconds
  • Zombies spread infection to adjacent active cells
  • Infected cells become zombies after ~4 seconds
  • Zombies have 2 HP, tap them twice to kill (they drop to cleared)
  • Wildcards trigger a PURGE: kills all zombies and infected cells at once
  • A 6-minute countdown timer ticks faster with each zombie on the board
  • If the timer hits zero, it's game over: TIME'S UP

TIPS

  • Speed matters. Clear fast before zombies rise and the timer accelerates
  • Save wildcards for when zombie count is high to reclaim time pressure
  • Infected cells are a warning. Clear nearby active cells before they turn
  • Watch the countdown timer. More zombies mean faster drain
  • The zombie/turning counters in the stats row help you track the threat
  • Focus on one area at a time to avoid being overwhelmed
