← All ModesMATCHBOX MODE
The win condition is inverted. Instead of clearing all cells, you win when zero matching neighbor pairs remain on the board. Think of it as un-matching the grid.
KEY DIFFERENCES
- Win when 0 matching adjacent pairs remain (not when all cells are cleared)
- 8-directional matching (same as Classic)
- Rerolls are random
- Hints are available and show current matches
- The 'matches' counter in the stats row shows remaining pairs to eliminate
- Clearing cells helps, but the goal is eliminating pairs. Sometimes rerolling is enough
TIPS
- Focus on breaking up clusters of the same number
- Sometimes it's better to reroll a cell to break a pair than to try to clear it
- Watch the matches counter, it's your real score
- Late game: hunt for the last few pairs hiding in corners
